Cost of braces

Unfortunately, we can't provide a fixed price for braces in advance, as the cost depends on the patient’s specific orthodontic needs.

There is no standard price for braces because every patient requires a different treatment. The total cost depends on:

• The type of braces (traditional fixed braces, invisible braces, aligners, etc.)
• The duration and complexity of the treatment

At your first appointment, we’ll analyze your teeth and discuss the possible treatment options. Based on this analysis, you’ll receive a detailed cost estimate so that you know exactly what to expect.

This gives you time to consider the costs and explore whether part of the treatment may be reimbursed by RIZIV/INAMI. It also allows you to check if your health insurance or dental insurance might offer additional coverage.

Conventioned vs. non-conventioned orthodontists

Several times a year, various stakeholders in the healthcare sector (including RIZIV/INAMI, the Ministry, doctors, etc.) meet to establish the official reimbursement rates for medical visits.

A conventioned doctor adheres to these rates as determined by the healthcare sector.

While almost all general practitioners follow these conventioned rates, there’s more variation among specialists. Gynaecologists, various surgeons, and orthodontists are more often non-conventioned than conventioned.
